Quick Tips for Playing Foclach
Foclach game was adapted from the original Wordle by Irish language enthusiasts. The only difference between Wordle and Foclach is that Foclach uses Irish-language words instead of English. Therefore, when it comes to playing strategies, you need to apply the same tactics you always use to win Wordle. Here are some of the most important basic strategies:
- Start with common Irish words that contain a variety of consonants and vowels to help you quickly eliminate incorrect letters and narrow down the possibilities.
- Pay attention to the feedback provided after each guess – green letters indicate correct placement, yellow letters are in the word but in the wrong spot, and gray letters are not in the word at all. Use this information to inform your next guess
- Familiarize yourself with common Irish vocabulary, especially words with 5 letters. The more Irish words you know, the better your chances of guessing the Foclach word correctly. Here is a LIST of 5 letter Irish words you can start your guesses with.
- Have fun and don’t worry about getting it right every time! Foclach is a great way to practice Irish in a low-pressure, engaging way
