One of the most popular strategies Wordle enthusiasts use to maintain their winning streaks is to use specific starting words. Many players tend to begin with the same words each time. For example, if you want to identify or eliminate vowels in the day’s Wordle puzzle, starting with “AUDIO” or “ADIEU” is effective, as these words contain four vowels. Using them as your starting guess can quickly reveal whether those vowels are present in the day’s Wordle answer.
Another strategy is the three-starter-word approach. While I love mixing things up and trying new words in each game, there are days when I’m short on time but still want to play. On those days, I use the mighty three-starter-word strategy to make sure I don’t miss out on the day’s puzzle.
I call it “mighty” because it consistently helps guide you toward achieving a 4/6 or 5/6 win.
I usually recommend it for people who are not concerned about achieving 1/6, 2/6, or 3/6 wins but are determined to secure at least a win regardless of the approach.
Here’s how it works: You deploy the three words in the first, second, and third guesses. With 15 words played (some of which may already be green or yellow), you’ll have significantly narrowed down the list of possible letters, making it much easier to deduce the solution in your fourth attempt.
Like any other Wordle strategy, there’s no guarantee of success, and it may not work for every day’s puzzle.
