About Le Mot
Le Mot is a French version of the popular word game Wordle, where players have to guess a 5-letter word each day in 6 attempts or less.
The game provides colored hints to help players determine the correct letters and their positions:
- Green tiles indicate the letter is correct and in the right place
- Yellow tiles mean the letter is in the word but in the wrong position
- Gray tiles signify the letter is not in the word at all
Le Mot was created by French developers to allow French speakers to enjoy a version of Wordle in their native language. It follows the same simple gameplay as the original Wordle but with a French vocabulary.
Some key differences from the English Wordle are:
- The word list is tailored to common French 5-letter words
- The game is hosted at https://wordle.louan.me/ rather than on the New York Times website
- The game interface and instructions are in French
Put simply, Le Mot is a French clone of Wordle that allows French speakers to play the popular word guessing game in their own language. The gameplay is nearly identical but with a French twist.
