If you’re a regular Wordle player, you’re familiar with the daily challenge that each puzzle brings.
While guessing the secret five-letter word can be exciting, it’s easy to encounter repeat words that can throw off your strategy.
To stay ahead, knowing which five-letter words haven’t yet appeared can give you a significant advantage.
By keeping track of unused words, you can refine your guesses, expand your vocabulary, and improve your chances of success.
This regularly updated list—either daily or every two days, as I remove words that have already been used—will help you avoid repetition and fine-tune your strategies, keeping the game both engaging and competitive.
Since Wordle’s script is written through October 2027, it’s possible to predict and list the exact answers for each day.
However, in the spirit of fair play, we won’t do that. Instead, the list of unused words will be presented in alphabetical order, ensuring there’s no easy way to figure out the answer for any given day.
But if you are particularly interested in knowing today’s answer, check this post; for yesterday’s, visit this one.
Without further ado, let’s dive in and explore which words are still in play for future puzzles!
How to Use the List:
Press Ctrl + F (or Command + F on Mac) and type the word you’re searching for into the search box. If the word is still unused and available, it will be highlighted in yellow. If it doesn’t appear or isn’t highlighted, the word has either already been used in Wordle or is not a valid Wordle word.

Hopefully, this list has been helpful in determining whether the word you’re considering for your next Wordle guess has already been used. As you can see, there are still plenty of unused words to explore. Since The New York Times selects a fresh five-letter word from the unused list every day without repeating past answers, it’s clear that Wordle operates within a finite pool of words. And, with nearly 9,000 valid five-letter words listed in sources like the Scrabble Dictionary, there’s always the possibility that Wordle might expand its vocabulary in the future as more words are used up. Keep guessing, stay strategic, and enjoy the challenge!
