In Poeltl, your goal is to identify the mystery player in eight tries. Each guess gives you feedback to guide your next move. If a box turns green, it means your guess is completely correct for that category. A yellow box means you’re close — for example, if the player once played for that team, has a similar position like “guard” instead of “guard-forward,” or if your guess for height, age, or jersey number is within two units of the real answer. If there’s no color, that part of your guess doesn’t match at all.
You can also view a silhouette hint of the mystery player at any time, and it won’t count against your total guesses. Each round provides clues across several categories, including the player’s name, team, conference, division, position, height, age, and jersey number.
This layered feedback system makes Poeltl both fun and educational, encouraging you to think strategically and expand your NBA knowledge with every game. A new mystery player is revealed daily at midnight EST, ensuring there’s always a fresh challenge waiting for returning players.
